The problem

PTE Academic is a computer-based English test used for university admission and skilled migration across 50+ countries. It has twenty distinct task types, each with its own trap. Paid coaching is expensive, and most free material online is out of date — which is worse than useless, because the exam format changes and candidates prepare for a test that no longer exists.

What we built

A free, structured practice platform covering all twenty PTE Academic task types across Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening — with real exam-style questions, no sign-up wall, and content maintained against the current exam format.

• All 20 task types — Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Write From Dictation, Essay, and the rest
• Organised by skill section, so candidates can drill their weakest area
• Audio-based tasks with recording and playback
• Tips, strategies and model answers alongside the practice
• Kept current through exam format changes — including the August 2025 update that added Respond to a Situation and Summarize Group Discussion
• SEO-led — the site is found by candidates searching for individual task types, not by advertising

The interesting part

The engineering was never the hard part. The hard part is that a test-prep site decays: the exam changes, and a site full of confidently wrong content actively harms the people using it. This platform has been maintained through nine years of format changes — including the 2025 restructure. That is a maintenance story, not a launch story, and it is the honest reason to point at it: we are still here, and it is still right.
